MW: Tell us about the circumstances on your being involved in the modeling industry. How did you started in the business?

Rosie Niku: I met my first boss at a party in 1994. He said he saw something in me and had this inclination that I would open up my own agency one day. The last thing on my mind was being a modeling agent and I knew nothing of the business. Sure enough, I started working for him, circumstances led him to leave and I was recommended to NEXT MODELS in LA. Within a year I became the director of the agency and 2 years later I opened Bleu.

MW: Looking back, what would be some of your most important projects and accomplishments?

Rosie: Becoming the sole owner of Bleu after buying my partner out after a year and turning it into one of the most respected agencies.

MW: Tell us more about the agency, how did Bleu became one of today's most reputable modeling agencies? Who are some of the people working with you to make it what it is today?

Rosie: Considering the fact that Bleu is located in a secondary market, I have put Bleu on the map on an international level thorough traveling and scouting all over the world. Most importantly, it's due to all the amazing relationships I have built with all the top international agents that has allowed me to represent some of today's top models.

Throughout the past 8 years I have been fortunate enough to work on the same team with some of the most reputable agents in the industry, enabling Bleu to be what it is today.

MW: What does it take to become successful in this business?

Rosie: The most important thing for success in my opinion is one hand the model, building a relationship of trust with the model and not only caring for them on a professional level, but on a personal level as well. On the other hand the relationship you build with the other agencies, if they trust and respect you, then their models do the same.

MW: Who are some of your closest friends and associates in the industry?

Rosie: Some of my closet friends and colleagues in the business are

Chris Forberg - Director of IMG NY; Nathalie Bernier- Former director of ELITE NY; Rosa Sarli- Director of WHY NOT MILAN; Olivier Bertrand- owner of SUCCESS PARIS and David Ralph- director of NY MODELS.
