We think of Brandon as a nineteener with a matured outlook of a 21 year old. Quite personable and with a positive attitude we admire. This is what he has to say:
As a 19 year old model who started just a few years ago, I find myself still looking for my niche in the business. I've never had problems getting attention from scouts or photographers, but I still need knowledgeable agents to finally jump-start and further guide my career into something more tangible.
I would like nothing more than just a chance. A chance to shoot with the most elite photographers and to put myself out there in a major market.
MW: Please tell us why you decided to become a model and what are the qualities you believed that can make you 'model material'?
Brandon: As a child, I was always fascinated by photography. When I turned 16, I started seeing local managers about starting a career. Photoshoots were always so much fun for me. After I graduated from high-school and applied to LSU, I realized that stability isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Yes, I could live a decent life, get a degree in Graphic Design, and then start with a full-time career; however, those aren't the things that I want out of life. I would like nothing more than to model in places like NY, Milano, South Africa, or Paris.
I don't want to just be seen in magazine, but to also be involved with the people who create them.
I think that rejection seems to go in one ear and out the other. Sometimes I feel as though I may be lead or lied to by agents or scouts, but inside I have to keep on moving. I want to finish this life without having to ask myself "Could I have made it?"
I want to know that I gave it my all and didn't let set-backs or tough times get in my way of the life that I wanted to live. That is exactly the path that modeling is setting out for me.
When one thinks of a model, many things come to mind (I.e. cheekbones, piercing eyes, perfect body, etc). Aren't those things that all of us can have if we work on it? I find myself to have potential and be model material mainly because I've hard the word 'NO!' too many times, but still keep on pursuing my dreams with more effort than ever.
It's a tough business and competition is fierce, so I think that having a strong head and determination is the most important quality when it comes to model potential.
