Karen: By the way, how did you began modeling? Tell us how did your first modeling gig went?

David: First shoot, I had to snog a girl and her 6'2" boyfriend was there and he was twice the size of me and he looked like he was gonna kill me the whole day, not too pleasant.

Well discovered, hmmm I was drunk in a club and 2 girls came up to me, fairly good-looking, and asked me, "Are you already a model?"

I mean come on, I thought they were taking the piss so I told em to fuck off, hmm yeah and then I left. My friend got their card, and after I got fired from a couple of jobs (everything from sales assistant to bar man, hmm they all sucked anyway!) I called em up, yeah bla bla, and then Hedi (Slimane) casted me in London, and after that it's been game on.

Oh yeah first published picture was in J-17 yeah woo hoo!

Jed: Essentially, modeling is a rather welcome departure from these jobs I suppose?

David: Eh well I had a rent to pay and I was running stupidly late so eh, They just told me my fee and I was like, "When is that shoot?", I mean it's not serious for me to be honest.

Jed: What are the reactions of your family about modeling? Is this a factor that somehow influenced you over your professional choice?

We heard you are close to your sister, how did she react to your becoming a model?

David: I mean my parents always wanted me to be a model, HAHAAA, just joking. Eh I mean all of my mates were like " Yeah let's continue studding!" and I didn't have a clue what to do so yeah.

My parents thinks it's fun and they always want me to bring them the magazines and stuff, but I mean my suitcase is always full so that doesn't happens a lot. My sister is a sweetheart for sure, she's been rocking it out in London with me, got chucked out from clubs, just like her brother. Models1 wanted to take her on but she was to you, hmm my other sister Angela is also cool, hehe just kidding, everyone asks me about that, and yeah I just play along with it.

Karen: Of all these places you need to go to, what's some impressions you got out of being there, I mean, most models like the traveling part...?

David: Paris for example, all fucking cabdrivers are assholes, I mean "Excuse moi, Le avenue de opera, sil vouis plait" in my shit accents and they just drive off. Hmm me and Jake managed to get a cab being sh--faced on Champs Elysee (how ever you spell that) first cab stopped, I was well surprised. We wanted the meter to stop at 13,8, we were singing "We all want 138" by Misfits and she just smiled, so I guess there are some ok cabbies in Paris as well.

NYC is cool, I really like it, the sea and all that, and loads of hot chicks. Milan, it's cold in winter and too hot in summer but I still kinda like it. It should be on the coast though. I mean being in love in Paris I guess is all neat and sweet and all that crap.

Jed: How's the catwalk by the way?

David: Almost falling off the catwalk at Mosch was pretty funny, and well my first catwalk show at Dior was an adrenaline kick for sure I can't deny that. Working with Mr. Avedon and Testino and all those chaps are cool.

Jed: Feel satisfied with your agencies and how they represent you? What's the good thing about having these top agencies behind a model?

David: They book all the stuff for you, If the clients doesn't know that you exist I guess it's kinda hard. I just want my agencies to sort stuff out for me like flights and hotels and shit. Having a good agency that you get along with is for me the most important thing really, and yeah that they book you jobs hehe.

Karen: In terms of preferences, do you like to do photoshoots for editorials and campaigns or do you enjoy doing the runways more?

David: Runways without a doubt, it's more real, but yeah the castings and fittings and all this sucks, but when you're standing there dressed and it's just to go out and rock the shit out of that catwalk, that's fun. Shoots is just a long wait, and I get bored before the first roll is shot.

Jed: What's the most difficult part being a model? What are the best parts?

David: Difficult part, hmm I can only talk for myself but not having a home is a pain up the bum, but except from that, life is sweet, I mean how can you complain? Best parts: Gucci party, than afterparty in Milan's best hotels with loads of good-looking babes, next day fly somewhere else and just have a good time, free drinks and making money, well nothing compare to the ladies (female models) but still we guys are trying.

Karen: What's the first thing you bought with your received your first paycheck as a model?

David: I paid my rent and then took my mates out for a big night out, and well got a flat.

David: Up Close and Personal, some extremely personal questions .....
