INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT: Making the Right Connections

ModelWatch profiles one modeling agency that value Integrity, Honesty and Professionalism

As competitive as modeling could ever be, there is always a need to have newbies guided through the rigors of modeling- from having the patience to wait for their turn, to having the strenght to withstand the temptations that roams along the way.

One agency has established itself, in building on confidence and trust and network with its peers, and is now being known as a company that nurtures the careers of aspiring male models. Its owner and prime mover described his agency as a conduit for aspiring models in their quest to break into the top fashion markets in the US, particularly New York and Los Angeles, and now taking in Miami.

Establishing itself firmly by showing the kind of attention to its models, which can only be described as management on a personal level, Integrity has, slowly but surely, become a dependable agency- with a reputation for taking its talents to the next level.

It was almost a year ago when MW launched Integrity's agency profile. One of the most remarkable difference we noticed is the ability of its models to step up in terms of their potential as future stars. A sign that the agency knows who to take in and groom through time and careful exposure.

Get to know an agency with a big heart, Nurch Novinger's Integrity Management...

MODELWATCH TALKS WITH INTEGRITY'S NURCH NORVINGER: His Quest to help his talents realize their potentials and the difficult adjustments he must do to establish a good name.

ModelWatch: What is the concept behind Integrity Management?

In terms of developing a career for a male model, how do you differentiate your approach from that of other agencies/management companies involved in representing male models?

Nurch: Just as the term "integrity" implies, I scout for new male talent that will not compromise a code of "doing things with honor and respect".

The look has to be right, but more importantly to me is finding integrity in someone. I cannot say that this is different in others' approach but it is essential to me.

ModelWatch: Do you specifically represent male models alone, or do you have any plans to represent both sexes in the future?

Nurch: Yes, I only represent male talent at this time; one of my goals for this industry is to raise public awareness of male models and other male talent who approach this industry with excellence. Excellence opens more doors of opportunity.

ModelWatch: What made you decide to open up Integrity, why use Integrity as the name of your management company? Tell us a bit of its history.

Nurch: Like with any business, there are those few who use their influence and power to manipulate and / or misuse others for their own self gain. This wrongful manipulation happened to a family member of mine.

When I see or hear about wrong doing, I am the kind of person who will try to correct it. So I learned the business through a local agency and eventually started my own scouting / management company based on giving respect to all I deal with.

ModelWatch: Can you still recall the first model you handled?

Nurch: I consider my first models those I helped at the local level. They are the everyday people you'd meet in small town USA. I'm still relatively new with the bigger markets. I can't say I have any model in the top 50 yet that people will recognize, but that day will come.

I have several now in NYC and LA who are working their way up. I do want to mention one aspiring male talent though who had given me great encouragement that I was on the right track.

His name was Elijah Carpenter. He was only 17 but had mega talent. He was tragically killed 2 years ago just before he was to head for Hollywood. Everything I had hoped for in someone, he had.

_Integrity's JUSTIN: It seems the younger, the better. Is Abercrombie and Fitch too far behind?
Although not perfect (we all have flaws), he excelled above most at such an early age. His parents asked me to speak at his memorial and ever since, I've dedicated what I do to this young man.

ModelWatch: How many male models are under your management at the moment?

Nurch: Including those who are part time (those who go to school or have other employment), I would say 30.

ModelWatch: Is there a standard by which you follow in order to get a model into your group? What would be your essential criteria in choosing a model?

Nurch: Not to overstate, but "integrity" is the essential standard I look for. The appropriate industry standards and requirements are actually secondary criteria because if integrity isn't sensed, the secondary critiera don't hold much weight for me.

Let me interject something here: no one is perfect and we all have our weaknesses and flaws. So I don't look for that "perfect" talent. Just as one might look for potential and not yet see the final product, so it is with those who I feel will rise to the occassion when integrity is challenged.
