IVAN FOR KENZO JEANS: In a complete jeans wardrobe, Ivan stands on a wall with one hand into his pockets. It was Ivan's eyes and lips and hair that has captured my attention. His eyes looks inviting, with a rather "luscious" lips with a hint of a smile and his black hair, gelled to the minimum.

Looking at the Highlights: Of course, he had more campaigns to show, surely they are part of his portfolio. It should include an impressive array of top fashion campaigns, perhaps unmatched by any other male model who came into prominence.

MASTER OF THE RUNWAYS: Walking for some of the Best-known Fashion Designers in the World.

The runways is one of the very first steps toward recognition for any aspiring male model. It is the so-called "baptism of fire" for them.

Ivan de Pineda is regarded as one of the most sought after runway model, at any given time. Various fashion movements and trends have been hugging the limelight for many years, each with their own preference for the models who will be parading the ramp and modeling their designs.

These is perhaps the underlying reason for some models to have limited runway appearances- their very features serve as the hindrance. But some are versatile and capable of altering their looks- as in the case of Tyson Ballou, Freddy Drabble, Ryan Locke, Mike Campbell, Anthony Vibert to name a few.

Ivan is perhaps one of those who not only is versatile but has been consistently a favorite among these prominent designers. From Valentino and Ferre to Versace, Gucci, Calvin Klein and YSL to D Squared, Moschino, Verri and Trussardi. The designers' list is perhaps the longest for any male model. From Milan, he did the same impressive showing in Paris, as well as in London, where a number of prominent South American models are based.

The Big Apple, regarded as the "acid test" when it comes to competitiveness in both models' fee and prestige has welcomed Ivan with open arms. With IMG guiding his career in NYC, Ivan has more than the headway reserved for those favoured by top agents and bookers. Perhaps his reputation precedes him.

PERCEPTIONS FROM AFAR: What they say about Ivan, the model.

Aside from a cover in Elle (Spanish edition), de Pineda is a celebrity, quite a famous one in South America. He has his own following and has been on both sides of the entertainment industry, as host, as guest and as model. A favorite of Latin fashion photographers, he has a series of shoots with them, one of which is shown here below.

LITTLE BROTHER: In an interview with another top male model from Argentina, Luciano Cassin, Ivan was described as Cassin's "big brother" for being his dead ringer. The two actually met in a show abroad and it was Ivan who assisted the latter in making sure that he gets to know the ropes- as most runway shows are "chaotic", a new model just about to do his first show may have the shock of his life. Ivan prevented such an experience for the younger model, thus Cassin is always grateful for the gesture.

THE LAST WORD: Ivan de Pineda: Citizen of the World!

A lot has been said and written about Ivan de Pineda, those restricted by language barrier as a number of these articles are in Spanish, or even in Portuguese.

Ivan de Pineda may not be your usual male model- he may not be someone who has the so-called "killer abs" preferred by some popular brands, as A&F or even Guess?, but he has this peculiar look about him that will force you to look at him even further- up close where you can perhaps form an opinion as to who he maybe, in the grander scheme of things.

As most Latin men, he maybe the typical "hot blooded" Latino whom women swoon over, or because of his ancestry (it is difficult to presume, but since he is named Ivan, perhaps there is a hint of European genes in him...) he maybe cold as ice.
