Jamie Strachan is one good case of a model who practice "patience is a virtue" Indeed for a man so young, it seems being patient about a career in modeling is as hard as staying in one place...

Then all of a sudden, he's everywhere especially on the runways, with his smirk-grin-half smile-whatever style, long flowing hair (that he sometimes put in braids) and those soulful eyes. Finally, the "potential" that he was became the "celebrated" that he is now.

At an early age (we assume he is only in his early twenties) he has already did quite an impressive gigs with some of the best Designers- Hugo Boss and Gucci. Not to mention quite an impressive stints in the editorial field.

Somebody from the UK gave us this cool, surprising article about Strachan, an interview actually! And he gave some quite interesting answers to questions about modeling.

So, what's it like being a model?

Well, it involves an awful lot of traveling and waiting around. A lot of people seem to expect my life to be very glamorous, which it really isn't! To be honest, there are truly amazing moments when you get treated like a king, but day-to-day it can get very boring.

Really?! What's a typical month for you then?

I'm not really sure what a 'typical' month would be, but the last four weeks have been quite busy. I started off in Long Island doing a shoot for the new Hugo Boss campaign, and then travelled over to New York for a Marc Jacobs catwalk show.

After that I left America and went off to Stockholm for a shoot with a fashion magazine out there called Café. Then I travelled to Paris for another show, and after that I did a shoot for the fashion section of Maxim in Atlantic City. I also went to Germany to do a shoot for German FHM, along with a TV interview.

Finally I came back to London to do the second phase of the Top Man campaign I had worked on earlier in the year.

What aspect of modeling is your favourite?

A couple of months ago I did the 2003 Spring/Summer collection for Gucci, which totally blew me away! I was just so chuffed since I've always wanted to do a Gucci show. I really was surprised to get it - if you had told me that I'd be on the Gucci catwalk a year or so ago, I would have laughed in your face!

More generally though, I love seeing the world, particularly when I get to go to lovely hot countries in the middle of the cold, rainy English winter! I have also met lots of really interesting people, and made some very good friends.

I feel that it is especially important in this job to have close friends who can support and ground you since things can get a bit crazy.
