I feel that it is especially important in this job to have close friends who can support and ground you since things can get a bit crazy. Photo taken from TheSeventh.

Jed: How was it being a young man, living in England and being with your family? What was it like? Was there any particular leanings on which your parents strive for you to do or to become?

Jamie: I was never really pushed on anything. My parents like me to make my own decisions on things. I was in a church choir when I was young, but I never became religious. I just like to sing.

I switched schools so many times growing up because of my Dads job always moving us. So changing the syllabus I had to learn at school was hard. So I guess that's why I became more "arty". I always liked sports allot but never really excelled at one particular sport.

Jed: As you grew up, what have been some of your aspirations in life?

Jamie: I think my first aspiration was to be a garbage man. So I could wake up, finish work early, and surf all day. But after I wanted to be and actor or a singer. No big goals, I have only ever made sure my friends and family and me are happy.

Jed: Any particular event or individual making such an impact on you, then and now?

Jamie: September 11 thought me what pain and hurt really are. And to try and never take anything for granted. The presidents of the whole world have shown how NOT to run countries and that revenge is never a good thing. My parents have always thought me to give the same respect to someone as the respect they give to you. But I am constantly learning.

Jed: I think a lot of us must have undergone such a radical transformation since that event...

Jed: Thinking back, did you enjoy school? What was your experiences like?

Jamie: I went to too many schools to count, but I guess the most influential was my last school called Sherborne School. I never liked school and I was never really well behaved. I kinda have a problem with authority. But at Sherborne I met some really good people who I am sure will be friends of mine forever.

Jed: Do you listen to music? If so, what genre do you particularly like? What is currently in your player?

Jamie: I listen to music all day. I permanently have my I-pod on, or music playing on whichever stereo I am near. I love Rock and Metal. But I also listen to allot of blues, Jazz, and acoustic music. I have been listening to Elliot Smith and Iggy Pop, today.

Karen: Are you a fashion conscious guy? Do you like to dress well or do you like rugged clothes- jeans and t-shirt? What are some of your favorite brands?

JAMIE STRACHAN FOR KENZO: Another high-profile project for Strachan.
Jamie: I am not really fashion conscious; I am definitely Jeans and t-shirt (and a sweater in England) kinda person. Although I have a lot of designer clothes, but I get them all for free. I don't wear most of them on a day-to-day basis. But I do wear allot of the clothes Helmut Lang, some of the Gucci stuff, and the t-shirts Number Nine all gave me. It's basically nice to know whenever I do HAVE to dress smart I can, and its nice clothes. But I don't like dressing smart too often.

Karen: Do you have an ideal woman? What should be her qualities and features to make her attractive to you?

Jamie: I don't really have an Ideal woman. I like the look in someone's eye. If they look a little cheeky then that's the one for me.

Jed: Plans for the future?

Jamie: No idea. Be happy. I don't like to plan.
