Jed: In your personal perspective, what makes the Men's Division at Elite a unique and different Men's board compared to the many agencies in New York?

Nathalie: As a booker of Elite Model Management, I think we have unique and close relationships with our models, we are not only concerned about developing their modeling careers and giving them an understanding of the business, but we genuinely care about one another.

Before Taylor Hendrich became one of the driving forces behind DNA's Mens Division, he used to be a successful male model- working for Versace, Gianfranco Ferre, Abercrombie and Fitch, the GAP and shooting for such magazines as GQ and Vanity Fair. It's quite different for someone to handle and represent models by actually being one. Knowing what it feels like a model makes a whole lot of difference. With the range of his experiences in both sides of the fence, having worked with Elite, Ford, APM, Karin, and now DNA, what Taylor says might even change your perspective of fashion and of modeling!

Jed: Having known the "ins and outs" of the modeling world, which would you prefer doing, being a model or working as a talent manager? What would you consider the advantages and disadvantages of these two different yet compatible professions?

Taylor: I have found both to be very different from each other. As a model I loved traveling and meeting with many different types of people and seeing the many different cultures and countries around the world. As an agent I find that I'm respected and more understood as a professional.

Today I prefer to be an agent! It is not easy being a model because they are only respected based on the work they do. Models tend to get a bad rap about not being to smart but yet another pretty face. I think this is hard on the psyche! Also you can never understand why one works or does not work. Especially in today's market! Sometimes I find it being luck of the draw.
